ESSEC Business School, Paris Campus, Faculty Position in Operations Research

The IDS (Information Systems, Decision Sciences and Statistics) department of ESSEC Business School opens a full-time faculty position (Associate or Full Professor) in Operations Research for its Paris-Cergy campus, starting fall 2015. The IDS Department is composed of 14 professors. The recruited professor will be a member of the Operations Research-Operations Management (OMOR) research cluster, gathering professors of the IDS department and the Operations Management department at ESSEC. ESSEC is a major European Business School, a French “Grande Ecole” with two campuses, one in the Paris metropolitan area, and one in Singapore. It offers graduate level training in business administration (MSc, MBA, Executive MBA, Specialized Masters, PhD…). Its Master in Management (MiM) program was ranked #3 worldwide in the last Financial Times ranking.

To be considered, candidates should hold a Ph.D. or doctorate in Operations Research, and show evidence of excellence both in research and teaching, with a substantial scholarly research record as evidenced by publication in top-tier journals. The research field required for this position is Integer Mathematical Programming, with publications dealing with methodological aspects and solving methods, as well as applications to operations planning (such as network design, production planning, facility location…).

Support to research is key to ESSEC policy and faculty members enjoy a very favorable environment. Salaries are competitive at European levels. Rank of appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Courses taught would be in mathematics and Operations Research, in the Grande Ecole program, as well as in other programs. The candidate should be able to teach both in English and in French.
