The Operations Research /Management Science Society of Malaysia (MSORSM) was registered as a professional society under Section 7, Societies Act of Malaysia 1966 on 19th July 1986, and its registration number is 3935/86 (Selangor). It was inaugurated on 5 October 1986.
MSORSM is the 36th national member of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS), 9th national member of the Association of Asia-Pacific Operational Research Societies (APORS) and member of the Confederation of Scientific and Technological Association in Malaysia (COSTAM).
To be a well-reorganised body representing, promoting and advancing the management sciences.
To play the lead role for the advancement of a progressive, well-informed management sciences community.
The objectives of the society are:
(i) To promote and develop MS/OR as an
(ii)To promote the practice of the Management Sciences.
(iii) To foster training and education in the Management Sciences.
(iv) To promote cooperation and exchange of knowledge with similar societies locally and globally.
(v) To contribute to the advancement and development of the Management Sciences in general.
MSORSM offers five (5) types of membership that is ordinary member, student member, corporate member, life member and fellow.
