Post Doctoral Fellowship in Brazil

Research Project “Cutting, packing, lot-sizing, scheduling, routing, location and their integration in industrial and logistics settings”, supported by São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) offers a post-doctoral fellowship.

This opportunity is to work with the Operations Research Group of the Institute of Science and Technology (ICT) at Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), Campus São José dos Campos, State of São Paulo in Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Horacio Hideki Yanasse.

The selected researcher will work in a project involving the development of optimization models and solution methods for the minimization of open stacks problem. The candidates must have a PhD in production engineering or related area, such as engineering, computer sciences, mathematics, among others. It is required full and exclusive dedication to the activities of the project, according to the FAPESP rules available in http://fapesp.br/bolsas/pd. The selection process will consider the CV of the candidates and their potential contribution to the research area of this project.

The post-doctoral candidate should have experience in Operations Research techniques, including optimization mathematical modeling, linear and integer programming, as well as experience in the coding and resolution of mathematical models through optimization package software (CPLEX, GUROBI or others). It is desirable prior knowledge in models for the minimization of open stacks problem and for cutting problems.

Applications must include the cover letter, an updated CV and a recommendation letter. All these documents must be sent electronically until December the 13th, 2019 in a single PDF file to Prof. Horacio Hideki Yanasse: <horacio.yanasse@unifesp.br>.

The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral scholarship from FAPESP (BR$7373 approximately US$1,800 per month, tax free), plus additional funds of 15% of the annual value of the scholarship to meet unforeseen and directly related to the research activity expenses. There is also a financial support for travel expenses to Brazil. Additional information about FAPESP’s post-doctoral scholarships are available in www.fapesp.br/bolsas/pd.
