From the beginning of 2019, IFORS has a new Administrative Committee, the board of officers in charge of managing the IFORS activities. The Administrative Committee is composed of five Vice-Presidents, the Treasurer, the President, the Immediate Past President, and the Secretary. IFORS represents the interests of the worldwide Operations Research community and includes the Latin American Ibero Association on Operations Research (ALIO), the Association of Asian-Pacific Operational Research Societies (APORS), the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO) and the Association of North American Operations Research Societies (NORAM), for a total of 54 national societies and over 30,000 operations research professionals. ALIO, APORS, EURO and NORAM are represented within the Administrative Committee by a Vice-President.
I wish to warmly thank, on behalf of our community, the Past President, Michael Trick, who has led IFORS with energy and intelligence in the past three years, and all the members of the past Administrative Committee for their commitment and generosity. And I am happy to introduce to you the new Committee, which includes the Past President, the Treasurer, Richard Hartl, the Secretary, Mary Magrogan, and the five Vice-Presidents, Chang Won Lee, Rosiane de Freitas Rodriques, representing ALIO, Sunity Shrestha Hada, representing APORS, Stefan Nickel, representing EURO, and Karla Hoffman, representing NORAM. I am honored to serve as IFORS President for the next three years and I look forward to working with the Administrative Committee to contribute to the growth and well-being of our Operations Research community.
May this year bring new goals, new achievements, new inspirations and happiness on your life.
