The Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College invites applications for Director of the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) Program, at the rank of Full Professor of Engineering. The MEM program is a professional degree program with courses taught by faculty from Thayer and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. The program’s mission is to educate future leaders who understand both the engineering and business aspects of technology. The Thayer School is in the planning stages for a significant expansion of faculty and programs. As part of the academic leadership, the new MEM Director will play a significant role in realizing this exciting growth phase.
Competitive candidates will have: 1) demonstrated interest and experience in advancing and leading an academic program relevant to engineering management, 2) strong teaching experience, and 3) a track record of competitively funded research programs with outcomes published in high-impact journals. Preference will be given to applicants who bring an applied research focus and/or industrial/commercial experience, especially in the areas of systems modeling, production operations and manufacturing, entrepreneurship, information science and technology, or technology policy and strategy. Best candidates will demonstrate successful synergistic enterprises in both engineering and management. A Ph.D. in engineering, operations research, management science, or closely related fields is required.
